You can say that launcher is the thing in which you can adjust the things like widgets, pattern of apps, icon size, grids and interaction of apps according to your use. You can do a lot of things with the launcher and am thankful to android community we have a lot of options to customize our screen through these launchers. Some launchers boost your android speed and some drain a lot of battery so talking about the best launcher I think its nova launcher. Nova launcher have a lot of options and the last update just rocks. On the first you see the Home Screen option:
1) Home Screen:
In home screen you se grids, icon layout, dock setting, corner radius, wallpaper scrolling, transition effect, infinite scroll and even you can change indicator color according to your home screen honestly it has a lot of options in customization see the screenshot below.
2) App Drawer:
So talking about the app drawer, app drawer is the most important part in the launcher. In app drawer we can set layout, style, opening gesture, search bar placement plus point the search bar also have weather option you can also set background transparency of app drawer like every color you want also you can add o top frequently used apps and in app drawer you have also the option of fast scrollbar not only fast scrollbar you can also add color to the scrollbar see the screenshot below maybe I can't write everything otherwise it went too lengthy see yourself:
3) Folders:
Folders what are the folders in the launcher its like about put all the things in one box in the nova launcher you set windows style, background colors, and icon layout so in the folder layout we two kinds of mode no.1 is windows and no.2 is immersive both have different functions like in windows you will see a small box or you can say that small container but in the case of immersive the folder expands and it expands almost full screen both mods have transparency, background corner radius nd scroll direction option grid option is only available in immersive mod you also customize icon layout and folder icon appearance in the folders I think this is the best part of the nova launcher here are the some screenshots have a look on it:
4) Search:
Nova launcher has a sperate search option in which you can adjust the nova's search window and bar configuration, like you can adjust the background color, search window corner radius, private keyboard, autocomplete with DuckDuckGo, search providers and the last and important part you can configure the desktop and drawer search bar have a look on the screenshots below:
5) Look & Feel:
Look and feel this is my favorite part in nova launcher in look and feel we have a lot of options about changing icons, icon layout screen orientation like you can force to portrait mode and landscape wow it's fantastic also it has the option of auto rotate other than that we have options of app animation like which android version you like Marshmallow, pie etc. etc. After this we have a option of Popup menu the people who don't know what is the pop menu basically its a style of the menu when you long press on a app or widget on the home screen or in the app drawer it will show you a lot of features in menu like uninstall, plays tore, relaunch, save apk the best feature and hide. Other options are drop targets, show undo bar and disable animations which impacts on your launcher speed in the bottom we have the category of notification bar well for me I don't like to show notification bar on my home screen so I set it to transparent it has option of notification bar hide or show, transparent notification bar which I am using or transparent navigation bar and the last think is dark icons you can set it to auto for better results here are the screenshots:
6) Night Mode:
Night mode is very necessary for the dark lovers plus it provides a premium look in night mode you can schedule or set dark mode based on your use it has a lot of options to set dark mode colors I think this is a the best nova launcher can do for us have a look on the dark option screenshots.
7) Gesture & inputs:
So the next option is gestures in the gestures you can do multiple things like smart work the nova launcher has a lot of gesture options like you can set any app and any function with the gestures nova has its own gestures like if we talk about other than apps you can use app drawer, expand notifications, recent apps, lock screen, nova search, assistant, toggle notification bar, toggle clock, default page, jump to the page, desktop previews and the last is nova settings and if you talk abut nova shortcuts the have activity and all the other apps which have shortcut features like in contact you have direct dial in maps we have directions as a shortcut or drive scan from Google Drive and many more see the screenshots below:
8) Integrations:
Well we have only one option in integrations which is sesame shortcuts its a separate app than nova launcher its option if you want to use it you can download it from playstore its an app like everything on your finger tip it offers an ability to extract various shortcuts through your device for example you want to call your bro at immediate basis you can directly call him without going to dialer simply go to app search and type his name it will show you here are the screenshot of sesame app from playstore.
9) Notification Badges:
Well this is another amazing option in nova launcher you can choose dynamic badges, notification dots, or number dots even you can change its position and size presets, colors and corner radius moreover you can see notification in popup menu you can also disable it through settings have a look on the screenshot:
10) Backup & Restore:
Last option and the best option for me and the persons who follow my tutorials and making android home screen setups in backup and restore I think I have to not explain too much about this feature because everyone knows very well about it if you don't then am explaining it very simply the first thing is backup you can save your current screen configuration by tapping on it you have to set only location where you want to save it rest of the work launcher will do by itself you can also share your backup with other nova launcher users like I shared with you in my videos other thing is restore backup the restore backup is used to roll back to a previous configuration example is very simple whenever I made setup I create a backup file the users who are watching they download the backup file and go to restore backup and select the backup file after selecting the layout the whole configuration is completely change according to backup file other is nova previously defaulted to it second last option is quick start it re-launches the initial setup progress and the last one is reset to default it will remove all the configuration and layouts you created and start from the scratch.
